Synopsis
Poignant drama about love -
young, old, sexual and platonic. In late 19th Century Russia,
three sisters - Irina (Kelly Reilly), Olga and Masha - are abandoned
in a provincial town and dream of freedom, romance and returning to
Moscow, their childhood home. New arrivals in their household
give rise to a complex mixture of stories, with mixed results for
the protagonists.

Reviewers' comments on Kelly
Reilly:
"Dromgoole's cast is almost too
good: the dignity and depth given to each character nearly turns the
production into a collection of star turns rather than a coherent whole" - from
The Evening Standard.
"Irina (Kelly Reilly) is very young
indeed, with all the earnest confidence of innocence; it is her decision
to marry the kind, dull Tuzenbach (Tom Smith) that gives her a sense of
sad maturity." - from JP, The Sunday Times.
Kelly's performance resulted in a
nomination as "Best Actress in a Supporting Role" for the Barclays TMA
Awards.
